The New Guinea singing dog was classified and exported in Australia particularly in the Taronga zoo. Eventually they were also accepted as a pet and they were then bred by private dog breeders. A lot of dog owners don’t want them for a pet because they have wild teeth and they are also classified as a wild canine since they are not really the domesticated type of dog. These breeds of dogs are typically smaller and they look exactly as a fox. This breed of dog got their name from the unique vocalization. They were like wolves although at times they sound like bird. This type of dog has a lot of breed aside from those that were found in some parts of Australia.

These types of dog contain different behavior and they also have some known traits. What you should know is that instead of folding their ears backward, you need to show submission to them as they flatten their ears out like the wings of the airplane. This type of dog can be a great companion and they can also be great when adopting them as a puppy. Their strong hunting trait makes them very good in escaping when trapped in a crucial situation. When acquiring them, you need to take precautions because this breed of dog is not advisable for a home pet since they are not the domesticated type of dog.

This type of dog should be trained well to make sure that they won’t be as destructive as others. Training them is vital and they should do that while they are still young. You should be careful when punishing them because they have the tendency to be wild and negative reactions may arise beyond your control. These dogs are very independent and they can also be an intelligent dog too if trained appropriately by their dog trainer.
