Chicken bones are dangerous, a lot of dogs choke on this so be very careful when you put this out in the garbage. Make sure that it is out of reach and accessibility of your dog, especially if your dog loves to prowl around the garbage receptacle. Another food that is dangerous to a dog is large amounts of chocolate and popcorn.

If you are the type of owner that does not give scraps to your dog, make sure that you train your dog not to accept scraps from other people. Some people might also be tempted to offer food if they see a cute dog by the side of the road, and there are some who are mean and will offer food that is poisonous. So, train them well. Whether it is given in good faith or not, your dog should not accept food from strangers.
